| Split Rock Bay Loop Length: 5 Miles Tread: Singletrack Difficulty: More Difficult Description: This trail follows singletrack through the foothills on the west side of Antelope Island, then follows a dirt road around Split Rock Bay and back to the trailhead. Trailhead Park at the trailhead on the bench above Split Rock Bay. Alternately, you can start there, ride the singletrack downhill, and meet a shuttle at the Bay to avoid the uphill ride along the road back to the trailhead. Along the Bench The trail follows along the bench, allowing great views over Split Rock Bay and the lake to the west. If you switch the map to Hybrid and zoom in, you can see most of the trail. Switchbacks The trail follows along the bench, through rocky areas, in and out of ravines, and then drops down a series of switchbacks to the shoreline. Antelope Island Road At the bottom of the switchbacks the singletrack ends and bikers ride up the Antelope Island Road to the trailhead, or meet a shuttle vehicle. |
