The Children’s Theatre has been producing Shakespeare for 25+ years, but now we are making it official! Our festival is a fun and engaging way for your family to experience some of the best plays ever written. Join us for a summer your children will remember for years to come.

The leading character, Viola, is shipwrecked on the shores of Illyria and loses contact with her twin brother, Sebastian, whom she believes to be dead. Masquerading as a young man under the name Cesario, she enters the service of Duke Orsino.

The Comedy of Errors is the story of two sets of identical twins that were separated at birth. Antipholus of Syracuse and his servant Dromio arrive in Ephesus, which turns out to be the home of their twin brothers, Antipholus of Ephesus and his servant also named Dromio. Comedy ensues!

RUN TIME: 30min.

The Green Show is a short interactive and highly entertaining show with musicians, entertainers and actors. The show is free, but seating is limited.

BACKSTAGE TOURS
TIME: Approximately 30min.

TICKETS: $2


Saturdays August 18th & 25th at 9:30am

An actor will take you on a tour behind the stage. Questions about the theatre and the plays may be asked throughout the tour. Space is limited, reserve in advance.

FAQs

Shakespeare for kids?
Yep. It always amazes us how smart kids are and how much they love it.
Will the shows be long?
Nope. The shows are very condensed versions with an intermission to get any wiggles out and visit the bathroom.
Do you dumb down the language?
In most cases no. We do change/add a word here or there to clarify the plot and censor some words too.
Are there any free events?
Yes. The Green Show is a 25min show which involves all sorts of entertainment and is completely free. We also have Backstage Tours for $2 per person.
What is the age minimum?
Generally we recommend 6+ and 3 - 4 year olds are typically too young. Babies are not allowed. We do encourage younger ones to come to The Green Show, it is appropriate for most ages 3+.
Youthstage & Mainstage?
Youthstage are all actors ages 9-19. Mainstage is typically all adult actors.
How do I buy tickets?
Tickets may be purchased in advance online or on the phone. You may also buy tickets at the door pending availability.
