"Piano Manipulates Light Waves" LED lights take direction from vibrations created by a Steinway piano, allowing audience members to cross boundaries of musical and visual perception. As part of "Green- nature vs. technology", The Mundi Project Piano Ambassadors will perform, featuring works by classical composers such as Haydn, Moszkowski, Schubert, and Prokofie Sound waves created by the piano ("Nature") will conduct a LED light ("Technology") orchestra as audience members have the opportunity to visualize music represented through light formations. During the performance, audience members will be able to interact and experience different vantage points much like a Japanese Zen garden. In preparation for the concert, The Mundi Project and Visual Art Institute worked with Neighborhood House After-School Program students in creating art for the performance as well as the stage set. This event is free to the public; however, a suggested donation is encouraged. Donations contribute to The Mundi Project's mission of providing youth access to pianos and innovative performance opportunities that incorporate all of the arts along the Wasatch Front.
