Azurite & Malachite Field Trip
Blue Crystal Mine, La Sal Mountain, Utah
Find Azurite and Malachite both crystalline pieces and massive balls after refereed to as 'blue berries'. There are also very large pieces of matrix littered with azurite and malachite Fine pieces from the size of a pea to over 2lbs. We have also found fossilized rodent skeletons replaced (and partially replaced) with malachite/azurite.
The collecting site here is literally 2 minutes of the side of the road! Getting back to town for a break or just ice cream is about a 30 minute trip on paved roads! We have arranged for incredible discounts at a local bead and breakfast for those who are joining us on our trips. Families are more then welcome and kids often have the best finds!
This trip has a limit of 25 rock hounds (not including children under 12). This is an all overnight trip, and we meet in Las Sal, Utah for this trip. For overnight accommodation information please call us 801-355-7952.
$125.00 Per Person Limit 5lbs of Collected Material.
Children 6 and Under are FREE, however their collecting
limit goes towards paying adults maximum amount.
(All Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Additional material available for a charge.)

No Pets! The mine owner does not allow dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, ferrets, hamsters, or other visiting pets at this location. Animals can NOT stay in vehicles including campers. Please do not bring your pets as you will be asked to leave the site, and we can not offer a refund or make up trip if asked to leave due to pets.
