|Cascade Springs Interpretive Trails
Description: Boardwalks with interpretive signs form a network of trails around Cascade Springs, where you'll find a series of beautiful springs, cascades and pools. The area is located on the east side of Mount Timpanogos, and provides excellent views of the mountains.
The area is forested and is scenic in its own right. Trout can often be seen in the pools. Other wildlife abounds here.
The area is full of color during fall. It is closed during winter.
The boardwalks here are fully accessible. The stroll around them may take just a few minutes, or hours if you want to linger and enjoy the serenity and scenery. This is a great spot for young children and family picnics.
Alpine Loop Summit
The main access is via the Cascade Springs Backway, which runs from the summit along the Alpine Loop Road down to Soldier Hollow in Wasatch Mountain State Park. From Salt Lake or Provo, get on the Alpine Loop Road via American Fork or Provo canyons and just drive up the mountain to the summit. The Alpine Loop Road is clearly signed, as is the Cascade turnoff.
From Heber or midway, drive the Charleston Road, which runs along the east side of Deer Creek Reservoir. Turnoff into Soldier Hollow and follow the signs pointing toward Cascade Springs. The route is easy, regardless of your approach.
