Moab Area Auto Touring
The Moab area is famous for its spectacular scenery, and much of it can be seen from an automobile as you drive on maintained roads.
In Arches National Park, the main access road provides impressive views of structures like Balanced Rock, Skyline Arch, petrified sand dunes and massive stone fins. Spur roads pass a cluster of arches in the Windows Section, and a short stroll from a paved road affords views of famous Delicate Arch.
Highway 313 extends out to Dead Horse Point State Park, providing outstanding views of the Colorado River and Canyonlands National Park. From Hwy 313 you can continue a scenic drive Across Island in the Sky Mesa to Grand View Point and other vistas.
Hwy 211 provides great natural scenery as it probes the Needles District in Canyonlands. The Needles Overlook, Anticline Overlook and other similar roads provide breathtaking views of the river and the Needles District.
See this page for information on byways outside of the national parks that run through areas with great scenery.
