Snowbasin (Resort)
After more than 60 years as a little-known hideaway for Utah powder skiers, Snowbasin burst onto the world stage at the Winter Games in 2002. Now, no Utah winter vacation is complete without experiencing the Grizzly and Wildflower Downhill courses made famous in 2002. Viewers around the globe discovered Snowbasin's
high alpine bowls, steep chutes, perfectly groomed cruisers, deep-powder glades and two of the most challenging downhill race courses ever traced on a mountain. With diverse terrain for beginner easy to challenging expert runs, Snowbasin boasts 3,000 skiable acres.
With years of experience building legendary Sun Valley, Idaho, into one of the most elegant resorts in North America, owner Earl Holding has complemented Snowbasin's magnificent God-given terrain and plentiful powder snow with four sumptuous lodges world-class lifts with impressive vertical rise. High-speed gondolas, chairlifts and a tram whisk snowsport and food lovers up nearly 3,000 vertical feet into the distant corners of this vast arena, unveiling an endless variety of choices that satisfy all appetites. Snowbasin guests enjoy consistently acclaimed on-mounting dining, breathtaking views, meticulous slope grooming, attentive customer care and superb shopping. One of the world's largest computer-controlled snowmaking systems and a battalion of snow groomers virtually guarantee that Snowbasin will be open and groomed to perfection as early as Thanksgiving.
