| Big Water to Dog Lake Length: 6 miles round trip Tread: Singletrack Difficulty: More Difficult Description: This very popular biking and hiking trail runs from Mill Creek Canyon up to Dog Lake. Bikes are allowed on even numbered days. This is a summer and fall trail - the road to the trailhead is open from July 1 through Nov 1. Summer wildflowers can be spectacular. Big Water Trailhead The trailhead is at the signed Big Water parking area near the top of the canyon. It is just over 3 miles to the lake, along a well-marked trail. The ride is not technical but is an uphill grind. Dog Lake From Dog Lake, you can continue down the other side into Big Cottonwood Canyon. (Note, dogs are not allowed in that drainage.) |
