St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site

Description: The St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm displays some of the oldest and best-preserved tracks in the world. Dinosaur tracks were discovered on the farm in February, 2000, and since the site has become an attraction to almost 40,000 annual visitors from around the world. The SGDS museum houses over 2000 individual very rare and unique dinosaur tracks and other 195-198 million year old (Early Jurassic Epoch) fossils and geological specimens, including multiple dinosaur track horizons, bones and teeth, very rare dinosaur (and other animal) swimming traces, a unique dinosaur resting trace, rare detailed dinosaur skin impressions, other fossils of freshwater animals and plants, and environmentally informative sedimentary structures. Approximately 5000 additional specimens presently reside outside the museum building. . The quantity and quality of these fossils at the SGDS is unmatched anywhere else in the world.
