Length: 3 miles round trip
Description: The Transept Trail is located at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It follows the canyon rim from the campground down to the North Rim Lodge. From the lodge, it is easy to continue hiking down the Bright Angle Point Trail to that famous viewpoint.
The campground is located just off the main road leading into the Grand Canyon North Rim. It is in a forested area and some sites are quite close to the rim. This hike runs through the forest, but also provides great views down into the canyon.
North Rim Lodge
The lodge is located at the end of the paved North Rim access road. Views from the lodge are spectacular, but they get even better if you hike south from the lodge to Bright Angel Point.
