Salmon River Rafting
The Salmon River — the fabled "River of No Return" — offers exciting rafting over rapids up to Class IV during the spring and early summer, and calmer water ideal for families during the rest of the season. Trips are offered on the main Salmon and the Middle Fork of the Salmon. They range from 4-7 days, covering up to 92 miles. Read more...

RESOURCES
The clear mountain stream cuts through the heart of the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, the largest wilderness area in the US outside of Alaska. The Salmon is the longest stretch of undammed river in the West. Scenery is spectacular; wildlife is abundant and the trips also pass historic sites.
The Salmon offers excellent trout fishing and fish/raft packages are offered by many outfitters.
As a bonus, natural hot spring pools are located adjacent to the river in several places. After a day fighting rapids, it is wonderful to relax in the hot mineral water.
Inflatable kayaks are popular for people who want to challenge this river one-on-one. Paddle rafts and large self-bailing rafts are also commonly used on the river.
