Parks In Salt Lake City

Family and group activities and community events are often held at parks in the Salt Lake area. Below we list some of the major parks. In addition to those on list, dozens of smaller neighborhood and community parks can be found throughout the valley. Information about them can be obtained from the respective city offices.

600 E 1000 S.

Offers ADA-accessible playgrounds and restrooms. Also has pavilions, a large lake, concession stand, children's play area, aviary, horseshoe pits, swimming pool, basketball court, volleyball courts, tennis courts and a greenhouse.

1330 S 2100 E.

This large regional park comprises 110.5 acres of rolling green space, located on the site of the old State Prison in the Sugarhouse area of Salt Lake City. There are two entrances for vehicular traffic off of 2100 South, at 1400 East and 1500 East. Offers covered pavilions, a stream, lake, regulation soccer and baseball fields, a large, cement basketball court donated by the Utah Jazz; two children's play areas with plastic play sets; a small amphitheater with seating for 220 people; seven volleyball courts (one at each terrace), and a sleigh-riding hill.

375 North Canyon Rd (located just northeast downtown, off the east side of Capitol Hill).

Has lush green space with drinking fountains, ADA restroom, ornamental fountain, monuments honoring soldiers, Memorial House and Ottinger Hall.

Located off I-80 midway up Parleys Canyon at Exit 134.

Bowery, tables, lights, fire pit, fireplace, softball, horseshoes, cement volleyball, horseshoes, softball, cement volleyball, ADA restrooms, ADA playground. Adjacent to Mountain Dell Golf Course. The park includes a hill which is very popular for tubing during the winter.

1060 South 900 West.

Two bowerys, tables, fireplaces, sand volleyball, ADA playgrounds, tennis, horseshoes, ball field, international peace gardens, ADA restrooms, off-leash area.

10400 South 1300 East.

Includes 644 acres of natural area with multiple trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding, natural history study areas, interpretive sites, ponds and streams, and native plants and wildlife.

10800 South 2200 West

This park offers some of the finest equine facilities in the Western US, including a top-rated 3/4 mile track, 200 stalls for year round boarding and 300 stalls for show boarding, 5 outdoor arenas and a stately Polo field bordered by mature trees. This facility can accommodate a wide variety of events ranging from horse racing and rodeos to trade shows and concerts.
