Provo Canyon Scenic Drives


US 189 and SR 113 from Provo to Heber

This route winds through impressive Provo Canyon past Bridal Veil Falls, Deer Creek Reservoir and on to scenic Heber Valley.

Embarking from Provo on US-189, this byway parallels the Provo River, one of Utah's Blue Ribbon fly fishing waters.

Short side trips on the Alpine Scenic Loop, U-92, lead past Sundance Resort, the Uinta National Forest and Timpanogos Cave National Monument.

At the top of Provo Canyon, Deer Creek Reservoir State Park is a favorite spot for sailing, boating, fishing and windsurfing. Nearby is Soldier Hollow State Park, venue for cross-country skiing, biathlon and Nordic combined events during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Throughout the winter months, visitors are welcome to cross-country ski or snowshoe the 16 miles (26 kilometers) of trails that wind through the trees and hills surrounding Soldier Hollow when Olympic training or competitions are not taking place. Summer visitors may hike,mountain bike or golf at two 18 hole courses.
