St. George Fishing
Some of Utah's best bass fishing is found near St George, in Sand Hollow Reservoir, Quail Lake, Lake Powell and Gunlock Reservoir.
Sand Hollow also offers very good fishing for bluegill. Quail Lake is usually good for trout in the early and late parts of the year, but that action slows during the heat of summer. Gunlock offers good catfishing and Lake Powell is famous for striped bass, channel catfish, bluegill, walleye and other species.
Trout fishermen come from around the world to fish the clear, cold water of the Colorado River at Lees Ferry, below Lake Powell. Trout also inhabit numerous small streams in mountains areas around St George.
