Utah State Parks Reservations and Fees


Reservations

Individual campsite reservations are accepted up to 16 weeks in advance from park departure date. If campsites are available, reservations can be made a minimum of 2 days in advance of arrival date. An $8.00 non-refundable reservation fee is charged for each site reserved.

State Park Fees >

Customers may reserve up to three campsites per phone call or internet session at one park for the same date and time period. Parties requiring additional space are encouraged to reserve one of our group areas. Group reservations are accepted up to 11 months in advance from park departure date. A $10.25 non-refundable fee is charged for group sites and building rentals. A minimum, non-refundable fee, will be charged at the time the reservation is made.

Length of stay

Length of stay generally is limited to 14 days (five days at Snow Canyon) within any 30-day period. Stay periods may be extended with permission from the park manager.

Payment and payment methods

Payment is required at the time a reservation is made. Payments can be made by VISA, MasterCard, and debit card. If needing to pay with a check, checks must be received in the reservation office within seven days of the date the reservation is made. Reservations made less than 30 days in advance require a credit card or cash payment. A $20.00 fee is charged for returned checks.

Internet reservation payments can be made with credit card only. However, please allow up to 24 hours after a credit card payment for your reservation to be confirmed.

Check-in, check-out

Check-in time at parks is from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Wasatch Mountain). Check-out time is generally 2:00 p.m. (noon at Dead Horse Point).

No Show and Late Arrival

If you do not occupy your reserved campsite by 10 a.m. on the day after the scheduled arrival date, the site will be made available to other campers. Most parks do not allow access after 10 p.m. If you must arrive late, notify the park.

Confirmation

A reservation confirmation will be mailed to you with your customer and reservation confirmation numbers, campground information, arrival and departure dates, park rules and reservation policies.

This confirmation number will be used to reference your reservation when making any changes.

Changes

ALL Changes must be made through the Central Reservations Office ( January 2010 online cancellations will be available) . To cancel or change, call 322-3770 in Salt Lake or toll-free 1 (800) 322-3770 from 7:00 AM thru 6:00 PM Monday through Thursday, excluding holidays. Please have your reservation number available when changing a reservation. Any change made to a reservation is subject to a $5 non-refundable transaction fee.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be made through the Central Reservations Office. (Beginning January 2010, online cancellations will be available.) To cancel or change, call 322-3770 in Salt Lake or toll free 800-322-3770 from 7:00 am thru 6:00 pm Monday through Thursday, excluding holidays. Please have your reservation number available when cancelling a reservation. Cancellations made four days or more in advance of arrival date (14 days for group sites) will receive a refund less the non-refundable reservation fee and a $5 transaction fee. Cancellations made less than four days in advance of arrival date (14 days for group sites) will receive a refund less the non-refundable reservation fee, $5 transaction fee, and the first night camping fee. When a reservation includes a holiday/special event, there will be no refunds given for any changes made to the existing reservation.

Refunds

Refunds are not given for bugs or bad weather. Refunds for cancelled reservations where a credit card was used as payment, refunds will be made by issuing a credit to that card. If the reservation was paid by check or any other method, a refund check will be mailed within 4-6 weeks. Refunds being requested after the reservation arrival date must be submitted to the park directly.

Campsite Limits and Extra Vehicles

Unless otherwise noted on your confirmation, one camping unit and a maximum of eight people are allowed per campsite. A camping unit is one tent, one trailer or one camper, not a combination or multiples of the above. Only one vehicle is allowed per campsite. A vehicle and attached in tow equipment is considered one vehicle. An extra vehicle, space permitting, will be charged half the camping fee per night, with any odd amounts being rounded to the next dollar.

Pets

Pets are welcome at most state parks, however, they must be on a maximum six foot leash and not left unattended. Pets are not allowed in buildings, on beaches, or in the lakes or reservoirs. Please remember to pick up after your pets. Pets are not allowed at Rock Cliff (Jordanelle) or in the group areas and Deer Creek State Park.

Quiet Hours

Quiet Hours are 10 pm to 7 am

Unreserved campsites

All unreserved campsites are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Handicap Sites

Accessible sites are available. Please check individual park amenities at www.stateparks.utah.gov for details.

Emergency closures

In the event of a natural emergency or sudden campground closure, all camping fees will be refunded.
