Eastern Utah Offroad Trails
Eastern Utah offers a multitude of Off-road trails in high mountain areas as well as low desert surroundings which are appropriate for off-road travel for four-wheelers, dune buggies, dirt bikes and ATV's as well as foot travel, biking and by horseback.
The Energy Loop
Huntington Canyon National Scenic Byway in the Manti-La Sal National Forest features roads and trails which are appropriate for the adventuresome spirit. A multitude of all-terrain vehicle adventure trails are offered on the Arapeen Off Highway Vehicle Trail System which covers the forest areas of Emery and Sanpete County and is accessible from all points of the compass (North, South, East, or West), including Highway 31 in Huntington Canyon, Highway 29 through Joe's Valley, and Highway 10 on the east. The mountain scenery is gorgeous and the area offers an abundant variety of wildlife.
The San Rafael Swell
Known for its scenic sandstone formations, deep canyons, desert streams, and expansive panoramas. The 2,000 square miles of the Swell is administered by the Bureau of Land Management and offers hundreds of miles of open roads for recreational use. It is accessible from Highway 10 (west), Highway 191/6 (north), Green River (east), and I-70 (south). The desert beauty is breathtaking and the colorful layering of the various sandstones offer visual pleasure of no limits. But please remember, because our mountains and deserts are remote and fragile, it is important to heed all applicable signage and/or restrictions in order to protect yourself and the landscape.
