This is SLC-initiation by a little bit trick to find trail. However, lots of people find this place because it's a cool place for the college kids to spend a weekend evening—no parents!
The trailhead is near the Natural History Museum of Utah, just off the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. Head up towards the mouth of Georges Hollow, and stay to the right. The trail will then take you to the left, up to a viewpoint at Finger Rock. Continue on the trail and you'll eventually end up at the stacked stones that make for a luxurious hiking destination. If you're lucky, you'll even find a remote or two to change the sunset station.
