Island In the Sky Visitor Center

Located just inside the park, on the main road leading into the Island in the Sky District, this visitor center is open 9 am to 4:30 pm daily (except some winter holidays), with extended hours spring through fall. Exhibits, publications and information are available, and a park orientation video may be viewed. Bottled water is available for sale at the visitor center. Needles Visitor Center

Located on Route 211 just inside the park, this visitor center is open year-round from 9 am to 4:30 pm (except some winter holidays), with extended hours March through October. Exhibits, information and publications are available. Needles District Phone number is (435) 259-4711 Ext. 0.

The Maze District- Hans Flat Ranger Station

The Hans Flat Ranger Station is open year round from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No entrance fee required. Located 24 miles south of I-70 on Utah HWY 24. Just south of the Goblin Valley State Park turnoff, on the east side of the road is a dirt road. Follow this road 46 miles to the Ranger Station. Here is where you can obtain permits for overnight trips in The Maze District. You can purchase books and maps at the Ranger Station. No water, food, or gas available.

Note: 435-259-2652 is for visitor information and permits between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. After 4:30 p.m. this line becomes an emergency line only. Do not tie up the line after 4:30pm.

Horseshoe Canyon District

No Visitor Center or Ranger Station. The main turn off to Horseshoe Canyon is 24 miles south of I70 on Utah HWY 24. Just south of the Goblin Valley State Park turnoff, on the east side of the road is a dirt road. Follow the dirt road for 30 miles. There is a fork in the dirt road with directional signage. The left fork goes to Horseshoe Canyon and the Right fork to Hans Flat Ranger Station. No water is available at Horseshoe Canyon. There is a vault toilet but no other service. No camping is allowed in Horseshoe Canyon, but is available at the west rim trailhead. No entrance fees required.

Canyonlands Fees and Passes

America the Beautiful - National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass is honored and also sold at Canyonlands. Cost is $80. This is the best deal for people intending to visit multiple parks within a year's time. You can get it online.

Individual Entrance to Canyonlands: $15 (Good for 7 Days).

Admits one individual with no car. Typically used for bicyclists, hikers, and pedestrians. Youth 15 and under are admitted free.

Vehicle Entrance to Park: $30 (Good for 7 days)

Admits one private, non-commercial vehicle (15 passenger capacity or less) and all its occupants.

Motorcycle Entrance to Park: $30 (Good for 7 days)

Admits a private, non-commercial motorcycle and its riders.

Southeast Utah Parks Annual Pass: $55 (Good for one year)

Valid for one year through the month of purchase. Admits one (1) private, non-commercial vehicle or its pass holder to Arches and Canyonlands national parks, and Natural Bridges National Monument.
