Location Description

Every cabin has a front and back entrance, and a covered porch for viewing the rock formations, the Velvet Ridge, cedars, and pinion pines. The sandstone bluffs and rock formations a short distance to the South are especially enchanting. As the early morning sun changes its position in the sky, one can sit and watch these sandstone mountains turn bright orange, then coral, and finally almost a pure white.

From the veranda or the cabin windows, guests are likely to see chipmunks frolicking in the trees, rabbits scurrying by and blue jays fluttering in the azure sky.

It is difficult to portray the beauty that surrounds Pine Shadows. It is a 15-minute drive to Capitol Reef National Park and its sheer-walled canyons, sandstone domes, and its red rock cliffs. It is a 10-mile drive to the entrance of Dixie National Forest and the Boulder Mountain Range with their sparkling mountain lakes and pine and aspen groves.
